VEDANTA Share Price Down by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 0.9% Thu, 21 Oct 01:37 PM
VEDANTA share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 362.
Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 24,912 (down 0.9%).
Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are VEDANTA (down 5.3%) and COFORGE (down 6.2%).
SHOPPERS STOP (up 17.6%) and RAIL VIKAS NIGAM (up 7.4%) are among the top gainers today.
Over the last one year, VEDANTA has moved up from Rs 97 to Rs 362, registering a gain of Rs 266 (up 274.6%)..
The BSE 500 has moved up from 15,425 to 24,912, registering a gain of 9,487 points (up 61.5%) during the last 12 months.
The top buzzing stocks among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 669.0%), RELIANCE POWER (up 517.2%) and ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 502.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 61,621 (down 1.0%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 4.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 18,384 (down 1.0%). KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 4.7%) and BPCL (up 1.9%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 40,432 to 61,621, registering a gain of 21,189 points (up 50.07%).
VEDANTA Financial Update...
VEDANTA net profit stood at Rs 53 billion for the quarter ended June 2021, compared to a profit of Rs 42 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 25.0% to Rs 284.1 billion during the period as against Rs 227.4 billion in April-June 2020.
For the year ended March 2021, VEDANTA reported 417.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 150.3 billion compared to net profit of Rs 47.4 billion during FY20.
Revenue of the company grew 4.2% to Rs 880 billion during FY21.
The current Price to earnings ratio of VEDANTA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 6.7x.
