Bafana Bafana have made a remarkable seven-place jump in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
Last month head coach Hugo Broos officially started his reign as the boss, taking his place in the dugout for the first time.
He guided South Africa to a goalless draw in Zimbabwe before returning home to clinch a 1-0 victory against Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Belgium boss continued to oversee positive results as South Africa claimed back-to-back victories against Ethiopia to ensure Bafana kept a grip on Group G.
The undefeated four-match streak pushed Bafana Bafana seven places up the FIFA rankings to 66th (previously ranked 73rd), the best placing for the national side since 2016 when they surged to 60th position.
Broos and his Bafana charges will be back in action next month for the final two matches of the first round of the World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana.
There were 40 African nations battling it out for World Cup qualification - they are split into 10 groups of four - but only five African countries can qualify.
After home and away fixtures in each group - a total of six games each - the 10 group winners will progress to the next round of qualification.
Those 10 teams will then be drawn into five home and away knockout fixtures, with the winners from those five matches booking their spot in Qatar.
South Africa, after four rounds of qualifying matches, remain top of Group G with 10 points.
