Farsighted leaders must for progressive society: Minister Dikho

Kangpokpi, October 19 2021: PHE minister Losii Dikho inaugurated a building of Ngulhao Theological Seminary at Motbung in Kangpokpi district on Tuesday.
The inaugural function was attended by minister Dikho as chief guest, chief of Motbung Model village Kaikhosei Lhouvum as president and Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen as guest of honour.
Minister Losii Dikho unveiled the inaugural plaque before it was dedicated by Thadou Baptist Association India president Rev Dr Vumthang Sitlhou, who attended as the dedicating minister.
Addressing the gathering, Losii Dikho said that Church is becoming important for all people particularly Christians and he was happy to be part of inauguration of the institution called Ngulhao Theological Seminary.
He said that establishment of Ngulhao Theological Seminary will ensure a great future for all and pointed out a society will definitely grow and progress when it has farsighted leaders.
He also said that Churches can play a very important role in implementing different projects of the government as it used to implement any projects cent percent in various sectors including spiritual education.
Christians are being neglected and harassed in different places of the country and political leadership are not taking the issue well, he said, adding that people cannot be discriminated on religious and community lines and everyone should be given equal respect.
In Manipur, fortunately, though Christian community is a minority, yet the general people respect the Christians and their culture and religion and could live together peacefully, he said, adding that Christians though small in number contribute to the development of the state in many ways.
Kangpokpi MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that no one can live with bread alone, so without Christ, nothing is impossible for human beings.
She said that TBA is one of the oldest denominations among the Thadou community and Ngulhao Theological Seminary would bring huge change in the theological field and it will definitely produce good theological leaders in the society.
Motbung Model village chief Kaikhosei Lhouvum and others also spoke at the event which culminated with a feast while Hahao and friends enthralled the crowd with their God praising songs during the function.
