No fresh case in 71 Uttar Pradesh districts in 24 hours, 42 declared Covid-free

The daily Covid case count in the state has not crossed 50 for around two months.
LUCKNOW: At least 71 out of total 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh reported zero fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday with the remaining four districts accounting for 12 new patients in the last 24 hours.
The number of active Covid cases stood at 118 in the last 24 hours.
With no new or active cases, 42 districts continued to remain Covid-free.
These districts include Amroha, Auraiya, Badaun, Baghpat, Ballia, Barabanki, Basti, Bahraich, Bijnor, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Deoria, Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Fatehpur, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Jhansi, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kasganj, Kaushambi, Kushinagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Mirzapur, Mainpuri, Mau, Moradabad, Pratapgarh, Rampur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Sitapur, Unnao and Sonbhadra.

“Despite aggressive tracing and testing, UP’s positivity rate, which shows the level of infections in the people, has been registering a steady decline for several days indicating that Covid is receding from the state,” a government official said on Tuesday.
