Senapati, October 19 2021: With an aim to ease the burden of villagers who could not afford to get proper medical facilities in remote hill villages, two NGO-funded health centres were inaugurated at Phaibung Khullen and Phuba Thapham villages under Senapati district.
The health centres will be sponsored by Bharat Gyan Vigyan §amiti (BGVS) Manipur under its initiative to provide basic medical facilities and first aid medicines to people residing in the hill areas.
Basic equipment like BP monitoring, weight measuring machine, body temperature measuring instrument among others will be made available at the centres.
The BGVS acknowledged hardships faced by the villagers to take the sick to the nearest hospital as vehicle hiring charge is exorbitantly high and consequently puts extra burden on poor villagers.
The medical centres were inaugurated in the presence of some village leaders.
It is informed that medical practitioners who reside in the village would look after the most-needy with necessary free check-ups and provision of first aid medicines whenever necessary.
