Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:14AM

Pokarna(up 1.72%), MOIL(up 1.55%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.53%) and Aro Granite Industries(up 0.47%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 5.00%), Oriental Trimex(down 4.52%), Coal India(down 1.14%), KIOCL(down 1.13%), Ashapura Minechem(down 1.11%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 1.00%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.85%), 20 Microns(down 0.81%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.46%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 24.1 points up at 18442.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 115.93 points at 61831.98 at around 10:14AM.

Bharti Airtel(up 4.47%), State Bank of India(up 2.39%), HCL Technologies(up 1.89%), Tata Motors(up 1.49%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.02%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.95%), Nestle India(up 0.94%), Britannia Industries(up 0.93%), ICICI Bank(up 0.88%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.85%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 2.34%), Eicher Motors(down 1.48%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.42%), Coal India(down 1.14%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.13%), Bajaj Auto(down 0.99%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.93%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.84%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.74%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.66%) were trading in the red.
