Congress leaders making a statement against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), aim at wooing minority community voters, said Karnataka chief minister Basavaraja Bommai."In the by-election, Siddaramaiah and the Congress leaders have no other choice. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organization is being dragged into propaganda," said Bommai after visiting the Mallikarjuna Swamy Virkatha Math in Naregalla village in Hanagal Taluk on Wednesday.Bommai further said that Congress leaders will not be successful in it.Bommai said that the allegations made by Congress leaders including Siddaramaiah against former Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa and him are silly. The District Health Official (DHO) of Kalaburagi S Ganjalkhed said that around 20 villages in his district have achieved 100 per cent vaccination of the eligible population.Further, he also claimed that around 162 villages have achieved 90 per cent vaccination whereas around 340 villages have achieved 80 per cent vaccination of the eligible population. Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said the Congress has been targeting the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) only to allegedly appease the minorities. "In the by-polls, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and Congress are not getting any other topic. Hence, they are dragging RSS into the byelection campaign. "They are commenting on RSS with a hope that they will get the votes of the minorities but they will never succeed in their efforts," Bommai said in village Naregalla in the bypoll-bound Hanagal Assembly constituency. Karnataka records 462 new covid-19 cases, 9 deaths
Karnataka on Wednesday logged 462 new cases of Covid-19 and 9 deaths, taking the total number of infections to 29,84,484 and death toll to 37,976, the health department said. The day also saw 479 discharges, pushing the total number of recoveries to 29,37,405.
Hubballi: Vehicles entering, leaving police commissioner’s office stray into BRTS lane
Private vehicles straying into the dedicated Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) lane in Hubballi-Dharwad jeopardises not only the safety of the passengers and crew on board, but their own. Ironically, vehicles entering and leaving the office of the Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner in Navanagar are using an unauthorised passage through the BRTS lane, much to the chagrin of the residents. The nearest BRTS junction is 200m from the police commissioner’s office but this has not deterred those visiting or leaving the building from taking the short cut, which saves them the trouble of taking a lengthy detour.
