Hemant inaugurates 11th national women's junior hockey championships

Simdega, Oct 20 (UNI) Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday inaugurated the 11th national women junior hockey championships here during which he also inaugurated and laid foundation for various development schemes and also distributed deeds and assets among the beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion at the SS Girls High School premises here he said that it was a

historic day for Simdega as once again a national level competition was being held here.

He said while on one hand the championship is being held on the other hand in large number

schemes are being inaugurated and foundation is being laid and alongwith that appointment

letters have been distributed among the youths.

The chief minister said in order to take hockey back to its glorious days and provide best

resources to the players foundation has been laid for building an international level stadium

here.

Mr Soren said that the success of this achievement will be heard a long way.

He said the government is providing direct jobs to the players who are performing better

at the national and international level.

The chief minister said the government is working with dedication to link the youth with the

jobs. On the occasion he also distributed appointment letters among 79 youths.

He said some months earlier the sub-junior championships was held and once again a

national level competition was being held here which is a matter of pride for the state as

players from across the nation have gathered here.

Mr Soren said that players who have been showing their skills at national and international

level have come to Simdega and it will also give an opportunity to the players of the state to

learn.

He said that sports helps to spread love and brotherhood.

The chief minister said that Jharkhand will be known also for its sports and not only minerals

as the government is also working with dedication to encourage sports.

Simdega MLA Bhushan Bara said the day was an important one as foundation to build an international stadium has been done here. He said that the state government is working for the

honour of the players and sports grounds are being constructed from panchayat level to district

level.

Kolibera MLA Naman Vixcel Kongadi said that sports also show community unity and is also

a big source of employment therefore the government is working to develop sports in the state

and all possible helps are being extended to the players.

The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the players of all the participating team. A total

of 26 teams are participating in the event. During the function foundation was laid for 25 schemes

worth Rs 27 crore while 35 schemes worth more than Rs 32 crore was also inaugurated by the

Chief Minister.
