MLSA crowned champions of State Judo Championship

Imphal, October 19 2021: MLSA won both the sub-junior and cadet events to emerge as the team champions of the 23rd State Level Judo Championship 2021 on Tuesday at Takyel SAI Complex.

On the second and closing day, MLSA boys and girls topped the sub-junior competition by wrapping up their campaign with 9 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze medals to propel their side to the championship title.

Earlier on the opening day, the MLSA cadet boys won their event with an impressive haul of 9 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals to lay the foundation for their team's triumphant campaign.

On the closing day, performances by the sub-junior boys yielded 6 gold medals for MLSA courtesy of Th Rohit (-35kg), Th Parvendev (-40kg), Nk Parjit (-60kg), M Boboi Joshi (-66kg), Th Boboy Sana (+66kg) and Y Yohenba (-50kg).In the girls' event, MLSA claimed 3 gold through Projana (-44kg), A Linthoinganbi (-57kg) and Ng Dipapati (+57kg) .

TBL came off second best with 4 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze medals.

The championship also handed out individual accolades to four jukdas of different teams.

In the cadet category, BBA's K Bishal (boys' -66kg) and SAI's I Kalpana (girls' -63kg) were adjudged best jukodas.

In sub-junior, MLSA's Y Yohenba (boys' -50kg) and TBL's L Ali (girls' -36kg) were named best jukodas.
