Suvendu threatens to block borders with B'desh if attacks on Hindus not stopped

Kolkata, Oct 19 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Suvendu Adhikarihas threatened to block the international borders connecting Bangladesh if violence and torture on the minority community is not stopped in the neighbouring country immediately.

The Nandigram MLA, who has been vocal since last week condemning the brutality on the Hindu minority and vandalism of the temples and attack on the priests, already wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him "to use his good offices diplomatically and save the Sanatani people (Hindu minority) in Bangladesh".

Adikari on Monday led a BJP delegation and called on Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Toufiq Hasan and expressed concern over the continuous attacks on the minority Hindu community in neighbouring country.

"At the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata to express our concerns regarding the continuous atrocities on the Bengali Sanatani Hindus. We are committed to fight for the rights and security of the Hindus, wronged anywhere in the world," Adhikari said in his twitter handle.

Adhikari, who hung the pictures of the brutalities that took place in Bangladesh around his chest, along with his followers, also threatened to stop movement of vehicles on the international borders of Petrapole in North 24 Parganas and Hilly in Dinajpur.

Hundreds of vehicles ply though these borders exporting foodgrains and vegetables to Bangladesh.

He said the protest would further be expanded across West Bengal against the atrocities on the minorities in Bangladesh.
