In what is probably a first for a local daily television drama, the popular kykNET soapie Suidooster is inviting viewers to watch a special episode with the cast at a drive-in theatre.
To raise funds for the Children's Hospital Trust, kykNET and the Suidoosterfees art's festival is presenting the Suidooster-makietie, to celebrate the wedding of Tyron (Maurice Paige) and Lee-Ann (Portia Joel) on Tuesday 2 November.
"Ticketholders will watch the wedding episode on the big screen from the comfort and safety of their vehicles while following the soundtrack on their car radios," says Suidooster's publicist Wilmer Müller.
"What is more, is that each vehicle will receive a gift pack to the value of R600. Tickets are limited, and proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Children's Hospital Trust, which Suidooster has been supporting in their fundraising efforts since last year."

According to Chantel Cooper, the CEO of the Children's Hospital Trust, they are thankful for the continued support of Suidooster and kykNET's viewers.
"Their efforts have greatly contributed to the lives of sick and injured children, with 100% of donations going towards children who deserve the much-needed emergency healthcare."
The Suidooster-makietie also kicks off the annual Suidoosterfees drive-in theatre, which was launched last year with great success. It is hosted at Atlantic Studios in Cape Town, which is also where Suidooster and several other kykNET shows are produced.
Ticket prices for the drive-in theatre range between R150 and R300 per vehicle, and the programme for 2 to 8 November will feature top local artists in a variety of shows.
