JODHPUR: A Congress MLA and her husband on Sunday night heckled staff of a police station for seizing the vehicle of their relative for alleged drunk driving and filing the case.
Both the MLA Meena Kanwar and her husband, a PCC member, reached the police station and hackled the staff.
A video of couple protesting in the police station and misbehaving with the police went viral on Monday. The video was recorded by a police station staff.

The MLA went on to justify liquor drinking stating that “Bacche sabke peete hain. Kya hua thodi bahut le li to”. (Everyone's children drink. What happened, if someone takes a little) demanding immediate release of the relative.
Buckling under pressure, the police let them leave with the seized vehicle. The cops also arranged to get the vehicle released from court on Monday.
As per the information, Ratanada police had seized a vehicle with driver under the influence of liquor on Sunday night and filed a case under Section 185 of Motor Vehicle Act, which pertains to driving under the effect of liquor.
The person was identified as nephew of Shergarh MLA Meena Kanwar.
They sat on the ground in the police station despite being offered chair and tried to pressurize the police to immediately release the vehicle and the accused.
In his order of heckling the police, Ummed Singh accused the police to be under the influence of liquor on the contrary and asked the sitting cop to leave the chair and stand in front of the MLA.
In the video, policemen could be clearly heard requesting him to behave and constantly offering the couple chairs for sitting instead of sitting on the ground.
The information reached the higher ups in the course of the altercation and they were allowed to go with the vehicle and MLA's nephew. The police arranged to carry out the formalities at magistrate court on Monday to get the vehicle released.
When the DCP (east) Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav was contacted, he said that the investigation of the case had been given to the ACP (East).
“Only after the investigation, we would be able to arrive at some conclusion”, Yadav said.
Meena Kanwar, however, claimed that police misbehaved with her nephew despite he gave his introduction.
“He was not found to be under the influence of liquor. On his information, we reached police station but police behaved in rude manner”, she alleged.
