Panaji: Stating that the physical progress achieved by the ongoing works of the Mopa Airport up to August 31, 2021 is 37.35 per cent, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the state legislative assembly that the first phase of Mopa Airport project is expected to be commissioned by August 2022.
“Furthermore, the construction of Aviation Skill Development Centre, at Mopa Airport site is in progress and is expected to be completed and commissioned in November 2021,” he added. Sawant said that the employment of Goans in the Mopa Airport project is as per clause 5.9 of Concession Agreement and presently 444 Goans are working on the airport project, in various positions.
