Cloud computing supplier VMware has been focusing more and more on its development in India and it has hired over 6,000 employees in India, much more than those at its headquarters in California, according to company CEO Raghu Raghuraman.
Raghuraman was cited by Economic Times as indicating that VMwae is providing its product mix on more developer platforms to facilitate modernization of applications.
India has the most software developers in the world and VMware will keep ramping up investment in the country, following its announcement in 2018 of investment of US$2 billion over the course of five years, Raghuraman was cited as saying.
This year, VMware is spinning off from parent company Dell. The two companies will be operating independently but remain in collaboration under a commercial agreement.
