2021 Tata Punch Sub-Compact SUV Launch in India Highlights: Tata Motors has finally announced the prices of its newest SUV, or rather micro-SUV, better known as the Punch. The Punch recently got into the headlines and that is for a very good reason. The vehicle scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash test, making it one of the safest cars that are currently on sale in the country. Having said that, the Punch is now the third Tata car to earn the 5-star (adult) safety GNCAP rating. Bookings for the Tata Punch are already underway for a minimum token amount of Rs 21,000. Earlier, the launch was scheduled to take place on 20th October but the carmaker preponed it by a couple of days. In terms of the key features, the Tata Punch gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Moreover, there is an optional Tata's iRA connectivity suite for the top-end Creative variant. The SUV also has 90-degree opening doors for easy and smooth entry and exit. In addition, the Punch comes with automatic climate control, cruise control, cooled glovebox, 4-speakers, auto-sensing wipers and also, auto headlights.
The newest SUV from Tata Motors - the Punch has finally been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 5.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom, Delhi). Please note that these prices are valid only till December 31st, 2021. Also, AMT is available for an additional Rs 60,000 over the price of the respective manual transmission trim. The recently concluded Global NCAP crash tests reveal that the Tata Punch is one of the safest cars in the country today. The Punch scored a full 5-star rating for adult protection. In order to be precise, the vehicle scored 16.45 / 17 points for adult safety and 40.89 / 49 points for child occupant safety.

The Tata Punch micro-SUV gets power from a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that is good enough to produce 84 hp of maximum power along with 6000 rpm of peak torque. This is the same motor that also does duty on the Altroz and the Tiago. The motor is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with an optional AMT.
The soon-to-be-launched Tata Punch will be launched in a total of four variants. These are named Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. It has to be noted that the said variants are being termed as 'Personas' by the carmaker. More details on the Punch soon, so keep watching this space for all the action.
The good thing about the Punch is that the design of the final production version has not changed much from the HBX concept that was shown to the world at the 2020 Auto Expo. The exterior design looks in sync with Punch's elder siblings namely the Harrier and the Safari. That said, the car gets split lighting design at the front along with an aggressive face.
