PRAYAGRAJ: The city reported 12 new dengue cases on Thursday, taking the tally to 415. New cases were detected in Shankargarh (1),Mauaima (1), Manda (1), Saidabad (1), Bai Ka Bagh (1), Karanpur (1), ChotaBaghara (1), Attarsuiya (1), Beli Colony (1), Lala Ki Saray (1), Newada (1) and Stanley road (1). Out of the 12 cases detected on Thursday, eight were from city areas while rest four were from rural areas.
Moreover, out of total 415 dengue cases in the district so far, 296 were in urban pockets while the rest 119 were in rural areas.
After witnessing a significant spike in dengue cases in urban areas, officials of the health department on Thursday intensified the anti-larvae spraying drive in Chota Baghara, Beli Colony, Newada, Stanley road and Bai Ka Bagh areas.
Officials appealed to the people to adopt preventive measures to keep the mosquito-borne disease at bay. Anti-larvae spraying and fogging were also taken up intrans-Ganga and trans-Yamuna areas.
