After remaining off air for four days, the foreign channels providing clean feed are back on the cable network in Bangladesh.
Foreign channels like BBC, Al Jazeera, Star Sports, Ten Spots, National Geographic and Deutsche Welle are among the prominent foreign channels which came back on the cable network on Tuesday.
However, Doordarshan channels like DD National, DD India and DD News were still not available on the cable network as on Tuesday night.
All the foreign channels in Bangladesh were blocked from October 1 by the cable TV operators after the government decided to enforce the law which allows only clean feed foreign channels to be telecast in the country.
Earlier, the channel owners association of Bangladesh held a meeting with the Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud on Monday.
The Minister had made it clear that the government is determined to implement the clean-feed policy as it is part of the law. He had made it clear that there is no bar on carrying the 24-foreign channels which provide clean feed for Bangladesh.
He had said that not carrying the foreign channels providing ad-free clean feed to Bangladesh was a violation of the Cable TV Management Act which could invite legal action.
