‘Detention under PASA dreadful’

Vadodara: Representatives of cattle owners met the functionaries of the elected wing of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) and the top brass of the city unit of the ruling BJP to discuss the issue of stray cattle.
The VMC and BJP have taken up the issue on priority in wake of insistence in this regard from the state government as well as the top brass of the state unit of the party. The BJP had also promised in the Vadodara civic polls that it would take care of the cattle menace.
The BJP has sought participation from the cattle owners in finding a solution to the cattle menace. The cattle owners also raised multiple issues during the meeting. They were asked to prepare a memorandum of their demands which will be discussed on Friday.
The cattle owners demanded that they should be given land for their cattle in all four zones of the city. They said that this would bring the shelters closer to cattle owners staying in each zone. They were also concerned about detentions under PASA.
