Exclamation Pre-workouts... good? Or a waste of Money? Any alternative?

I always used to use pre-workouts (grenade) when I first started training. Very few taste that great, and do we really need them to get the most out of our workouts? Feel like they put a lot of crap in them these days

Anyone know of any other pre-workouts that don't have any crap?

A lot of my friends have an espresso before their workout which seems a much more natural way of getting a buzz before training.

Was looking at this natural coffee brand called Javaburn. Looks decent, speeds up your metabolism so great for losing weight throughout the day as well. Anyone tried it before? Any good?

There are some unnecessary ingredients. Coffee works great, but honestly something about pre-workout (maybe placebo, maybe the tangy taste, maybe a whole bunch of things) does make me feel significantly more ready to hit my heavy workouts. If you're concerned about the unnecessary stuff, you can just get whichever ingredients you want online and make your own mix.

As for the "speeds up your metabolism" stuff, whole lotta nonsense that you shouldn't pay attention to. The coffee may be good for getting you energized, but you're not going to start losing weight just because it's got some special "metabolism booster" in it.
