MLA Nemcha distributes sugar for Durga Puja

Kangpokpi, October 05 2021: As the festive week of Navratri kicks in, Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen met people of Hindu faiths including Gorkha, Deshwali, Bihari, Marwari and others living in 50-Kangpokpi AC and got them into a festive mood for Durga Puja on Tuesday.
During an event held in Kangpokpi town, the local MLA also distributed sugar to more than 58 villages in Irang Part-I ad Irang Part II area, Kalapahar area, Parsain, and Tujang area, and Kangpokpi area as Durga Puja gifts.
Nemcha distributed the sugar in the presence of BJP Kangpokpi Mandal president Tingnei Lhouvum and other party workers and leaders.
Greeting the Hindu community of Kangpokpi AC on the occasion of Durga Puja festival in advance, the MLA said that Durga Puja is one of the most - awaited and colourful religious festivals in India and it celebrates the triumph of good over evil and to spread the message of love and happiness.
She also said that Navarati is a colourful festival full of delicious sweets and dishes and everyone enjoys the festival all over the world.
"Religious differences do not separate us but rather enrich us in many aspects of life," the MLA said, while adding that by the grace of God, "we have been living and coexisting with our Hindu brothers and sisters for many years in Kangpokpi AC" .
She continued that "we must, as Indians, cutting across religions, enjoy religious freedom, value religious tolerance and respect all religions as these are central to what India is as a nation.
Religious communities should work towards a holistic vision of justice for all, overcoming indifference, ignorance and fear" .
A representative of the Hindu community, Nandalal Bazgai said, "It has been more than 10 years now that our MLA Nemcha Kipgen has motivated and joined us on the occasion of this beautiful religious festival of Durga Puja and we feel very truly fortunate to have a leader like her who gives equal respect to all religions" .
He said further that every year on the occasion of Navaratri, MLA Nemcha reached out to all villages celebrating the auspicious festival with sugar to make them feel her presence amidst us throughout the festival which makes them feel comfortable in honouring the divine Goddess Durga.
While lauding the leadership of Nemcha, Nandalal pointed out that ever since she was elected as an MLA from Kangpokpi AC, they have been enjoying their rights and privileges and every community living within Kangpokpi AC is availing benefits entitled to them.
Nandalal also pointed out that under the leadership of MLA Nemcha Kipgen, every community got the opportunity to be appointed a PDS/FPS agent while adding that before her such benefits seemed entitled only to one community.
Another representative of Hindu community, who participated in the distribution of sugar, said that MLA Nemcha Kipgen is such a rare leader who always maintains friendliness with every community and she always listens to the problems and grievances of everyone irrespective of caste, creed and religion for which they felt blessed.
