Govt allows social gathering

Imphal, October 05 2021: In continuation of its unlocking process, the state government has permitted social gatherings and opening of religious places under certain conditions but continued with night curfew from 8:30 pm to 4 am in the entire state till October 21 .
In an order issued Monday, State Executive Committee chairman Dr Rajesh Kumar said that social gathering is allowed subject to the organiser or the host ensuring thaf wearing of mask, maintaining physical distancing, etc, are followed by all present in the venue.
The gathering should preferably be in open halls and spaces.
In case, it is held in enclosed setups, the number of people inside should not be more than 50 per cent of the capacity, it added.
The order also mentioned that religious places can also open subject to authorities concerned of the religious establishment ensuring that Covid Appropriate Behaviour are followed by all devotees present and the number of people not exceeding 50 per cent of capacity.
The order continued that activities permitted earlier will remain unchanged, while instructing Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) to divide the vendors of the three Khwairamband Keithel (Ima Markets) into three groups by following the stall numbers allocated to each vendor.
The vendors are also clustered into Black, White and Red card holders.
The order further said that each vendor may be given an opportunity to sell her goods twice a week with Whites on Monday and Thursday; Blacks on Tuesday and Friday and Reds on Wednesday and Saturday.
While on Sunday, the Keithels will remain closed for cleaning and sanitisation by IMC.
