Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 6 (UNI) Kerala reported 12,616 fresh COVID cases and 134 deaths on Wednesday, showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases and deaths in the State.
About 14,516 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.
Meanwhile, 134 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid, taking the death toll in the state to 25,811.
About 98,782 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently, 3,90,631 people are under observation in the state -- 3,75,306 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 15,325 in hospitals.
Today, 918 people were admitted to the hospital with virus Infection.
Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at 745 wards where strict restriction is being imposed.
In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the virus.
