2GB radio host and commentator Ray Hadley left out of the nominations at the 2021 Australian Commercial Radio Awards
Veteran broadcaster Ray Hadley has been patently left out of this year's Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRA) nominations.
According to Confidential, the 67-year-old 2GB radio host claimed that he purposely didn't enter the ACRA's this year to give other radio commentators a chance.
'I am 67. (John) Laws withdrew from them, (Alan) Jones withdrew from them and you get to the stage of your life where other people have got to be given an opportunity,' he said.

Left out: 2GB radio host and commentator Ray Hadley has been omitted from the 2021 Australian Commercial Radio Awards
Hadley has already received the most radio awards in ACRA history with 34 wins and a Hall of Fame induction in 2017.
'It is pretty simple, there were none (event) last year and I have won 34 of them, which is about 10 more than anyone else,' he explained.
'If you get there and you don’t win, people say your career is over and if you do win, they say ‘how boring is that, he has won again’. There is nothing worse than an old radio broadcaster standing up there.'
