First thing that the vlogger notices about the diesel variant once he starts driving was the clutch. He felt that the clutch was very light for a diesel SUV. This makes things easier for the driver in city conditions. However he felt that the gear lever or shifts could have been a bit more smoother. The XUV700 diesel version uses a 2.2 litre turbocharged engine that generates 185 Ps and 420 Nm of peak torque. In lower trims, the same engine generates 155 Ps. The version vlogger was driving here is a higher model and it comes packed with several features.
For a car of this size, XUV700 felt very quick and responsive. The steering also felt light at lower speeds and at higher speeds feels accurate and well weighted. In terms of comfort, vlogger felt that the XUV700 offers a comfortable seating position than other cars in the competition however he points out that the car is missing out on ventilated seats. He is also impressed with the NVH levels in the cabin and also points out that it is one of the most advanced car in the segment.
He even mentions that the blind spot monitor, lane keep assist feature all work perfectly on the SUV. In terms of suspension, Mahindra has tuned it in a way that it is set not too stiff or soft. Their decent amount of body roll but, it is not so much that you are thrown around inside the car. Overall, vlogger was very impressed with the diesel manual version of XUV700. He mentioned that it is a perfect match for those who want powerful yet fuel efficient SUV.
