EC appoints three top Punjab state poll officers

Chandigarh, October 5

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Dr S Karuna Raju today said on the recommendations of the Election Commission (EC) of India, IAS officer Amit Kumar has been appointed Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, while PCS officers Amarbir Singh and Inder Pal have been appointed Joint CEOs.

Raju said the appointments had been made as per the instructions of the EC for which the Punjab Government had sent a panel of three officers for the posts each through the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.

He said the Election Commission had also consulted the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, to finalise these names.

Chief Electoral Officer Raju also said preparations were being carried out to conduct upcoming Assembly elections on a war-footing.
