Prince Mukkaram Jah celebrates his 88th birthday in Turkey

Hyderabad: Mir Barkat Ali Khan, popularly known as Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur, formerly the eighth Nizam of the Prince State of Hyderabad, is celebrating his 88th birth in Turkey today.

According to sources close to the former royal family of the state of Hyderabad, the prince is not healthy, although there is “nothing worrying”.

On June 14, 1954, Mir Osman Ali Khan, the seventh and last Nizam of the state of Hyderabad, appointed Prince Mukarram Jah as his successor. Since then, he has been identified as the eighth and last Nizam of Hyderabad. His succession was recognized in principle by the Indian government. He was officially named the Prince of Hyderabad until 1971 when the titles and personal wallets were abolished by the Indian Union.

The Nizam has his grandson the successor of the gaddi instead of his first son Mir Himayat Ali Khan alias Prince Azam Jah Bahadur. Therefore, Mukarram Jah succeeded as the eighth Nizam with the death of the last former ruler of Hyderabad on 24 February 1967.

Prince Mukarram Jah first marries Princess Ezra of Turkey with whom he has two children – Prince Azmat Ali Khan and Princess Shehkyar. He later married Ms Helen Simmons of Australia with whom he had a son, Prince Alexander Azam Khan. It is said that he also lives in London. Still later he married Manolya Onur with whom he had a daughter Niloufer. His fourth wife is Jamila Boularous. Their daughter is Zairin Unnisa Begum.

Mukarram Jah Bahadur owns property in Hyderabad, such as Falaknuma Palace, Khilwat Palace, King Koti and Chiran Palace, located in the middle of the KBR National Park in Jubilee Hills. The property is cared for by his first ex-wife, Princess Ezra, who occasionally visits and resides in the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, which has been transformed into the Taj Falaknuma Palace.

According to sources, there is no chance that Prince Mukarram Jah will visit Hyderabad in the near future.

Shahed Hussain, who has been his confidant and secretary for twenty years and is still attached to him, wished many of his trusts strength. “He was a good master. “I am still his faithful servant,” he said.

The Prince was born in 1933 in the Hilafet Palace in Nice (France). His mother, Princess Durru Shewar, was the daughter of the last sultan of Turkey (Ottoman Empire) Sultan Abdul Mejid II. She died in the early 2000s.

Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur was succeeded by the seventh Nizam VII on 14 June 1954. Since then, he has been identified as the eighth and last Nizam of Hyderabad. His succession was also recognized in principle by the Government of Independent India.
