Dow Inc. DOW, -4.37% revealed Wednesday investment plans aimed at generating more than $3 billion in additional earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) by 2030, while keeping capital expenditures at or below depreciation. The materials science company said the investments are also part of its plan to advance circular and low-carbon offering as it moves toward zero-carbon emissions. The company said near-term capital and operating growth investments are expected to increase Ebitda by $2 billion and a new net-zero carbon emissions ethylene and derivatives complex is expected to deliver about $1 billion in Ebitda. Dow added that it expects to allocate about $1 billion in capital expenditures per year to decarbonize its asset base. The stock, which is still inactive in premarket trading, has gained 6.5% year to date, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.94% has advanced 12.1%.
