The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday made its 17th arrest in connection to the cruise drug party raid case after they picked up a man from Powai and allegedly seized contraband from his possession.

The agency sources also claimed that NCB had also conducted operations in Bandra, Juhu and Goregaon areas since Tuesday night. The arrested person has been identified as Achit Kumar.

According to the NCB sources, Kumar's name had figured during the ongoing investigation after which he was picked up from Powai on Tuesday night.

"Kumar was nabbed in a follow-up operation of the cruise raid case and a small quantity of hydroponic weed alias multi-strain cannabis has been found from his possession," confirmed Zonal Director of NCB, Sameer Wankhede.

NCB on Tuesday evening had arrested four persons - Gopalji Anand, Samir Sehgal, Manav Singhal and Bhaskar Arora in connection with the cruise raid case. These persons belong to a Delhi based event management company.

On Monday, the NCB had arrested Shreyas Nair, AQ Shaikh, Manish Rajgaria and Avin Sahu in connection with the cruise raid case.

"Based on the preliminary interrogation of the earlier arrested accused Ishmeet Singh Chadha, a follow-up operation was launched by NCB team at Goregaon, and one Shreyas Surendra Nair was intercepted along with a small quantity of charas. Based on the preliminary interrogation of the earlier arrested accused Mohak Jaswal, we conducted a raid at Jogeshwari and intercepted one AQ Shaikh with 2.5 gram of ecstasy and 54.3 gram (commercial quantity) of Mephedrone in his possession," said an NCB official.

In a follow-up operation, the NCB team had intercepted one Manish Rajgaria who was invited as a guest in the ship and had recovered a small quantity of Hydroponic Weed, a Multi- strain cannabis. The NCB officials had also arrested one Avin Sahu on consumption charges who was onboard the cruise.

A 22 member NCB team, headed by Zonal Director of Mumbai NCB Sameer Wankhede on Saturday conducted a clandestine raid on a cruise in mid-sea near Mumbai on receipt of information that drugs were being used in a party at the cruise.

The NCB officials had arrested Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan along with others identified as Munmum Dhamecha, Arbaaz Merchantt, Vikrant Chhokar, Mohak Jaswal, Ishmeet Singh Chadha, Gomit Chopra and Nupur Satija in connection with the case.

The NCB had seized 13 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA, 5 grams of MD and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash during the raid.
