Three fatalities, 157 new positive cases reported

Imphal, October 05 2021: The state on Tuesday reported three new fatalities and 157 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2681 samples tested, thereby registering a positivity rate of 5.86 per cent against 5.12 per cent recorded on Monday.
The active caseload has come down to 1724, out of which 319 (18.50 per cent) are in home isolation, 464 (26.91 per cent) in CHICs, 578 (33.53 per cent) in CCCs.
and 363 (21.06 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 67 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 72 are on oxygen support and 24 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 161 patients.
On the other hand, there are eight patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Tuesday evening, 568 beds including 117 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Monday evening 2894 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 390 beds (29 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 91,903 positive cases and 1497 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 1087 new cases and 19 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
The current month has recorded 719 new cases and 16 fatalities.
According to official reports, the 157 new positive cases included 147 people (77 male & 70 female) from among the general population and 10 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and their samples were tested at RIMS (8), JNIMS (37) and other testing centres (112) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (25), Imphal West (99), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (3), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (4), Chandel (1), Pherzawl (2), Tengnoupal (2) and Tamenglong (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
All the three fatalities reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal West and two of them had received first dose of Covid vaccine.
The cumulative number of deaths due to Covid in the state has reached 1871.In the last 24 hours, 131 patients were discharged from home isolation (53), RIMS (2), JNIMS (12), CCCs (61) and CHICs (3) .
However, 501 already discharged persons were reported only on Tuesday and thetotal number of recovered cases is calculated as 632.The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,21,303 (general population - 1,17,003 and CAPF personnel - 4,300): Number of recovered cases is 1,17,708 (general population - 1,13,444 and CAPF personnel - 4,264) and number of active cases is 1,724 (general population -1,693 and CAPF personnel - 31) .
The recovery rate is 97.04 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 659 D-type and 64 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
On Monday, 11,323 vaccine doses were administered, taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,27,360 including 5,04,274 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (41,930), Imphal East (26,816), Thoubal (9351), Churachandpur (10,061), Kangpokpi (2762), Tamenglong (3268), Bishnupur (9039), Senapati (2208), Ukhrul (2790), Kakching (6355), Chandel (2288), Noney.(l060), Tengnoupal (1046), Jiribam (1017), Kamjong (867) and Pherzawl (445) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (624), Imphal East (443), Thoubal (169), Churachandpur (159), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (187), Senapati (9), Ukhrul 34), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,092 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,243 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,23,188 tests per million population against the national average of 4,11,864 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2681 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.86 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.24 per cent.
