NCC starts consumer rights scheme for university students

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has launched the Telecom Campus Conversation Forum to inform university students about their rights and obligations as telecommunication customers and about consumer protection. The NCC director for consumer affairs Efosa Idehen said NCC initiatives to include the free emergency number 112, the free NCC consumer complaint number 622, the Do-Not-Disturb (DND) short code 2442, the regulation on forceful subscription, and measures to counter pre-registration of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards.
