HYDERABAD: Finance minister
T Harish Rao said though the 15th finance commission has suggested to give a
special packge for Telangana, there had been no response from the Centre.
Responding to questions raised by MLCs Kalvakuntla Kavitha and T Jeevan Reddy the minister said though the state government faced financial problems, the employees were given pay revision commission and but there was delay in salaries.
On Ayushman Bharat scheme,
Harish Rao said while only 26 lakh people are being covered under Ayushman Bharat, 87 lakh people covered under Arogya Sri scheme.
“So far 1,18,247 people got benefited under Ayushman Bharat for which about Rs 259 crore spent by the government,” the minister said.
T meeting power demand: JagadishEnergy minister G Jagadish Reddy said the state government was meeting the power demand though there has been sudden spike in the past few years.
When the state was formed the demand for just 6,000 MW now the contracted capacity of the power is 16,000 MW, he said.
He said 56,111 million units of power was consumed in 2020-2021 of which about 17,935 MU for domestic and commercial purpose and another 38,000 MW for industrial, lifts and agriculture purposes. DIscoms earned Rs 30,000 crore, he said.
