It is encouraged to keep all your personal information mentioned in the Aadhaar card up to date, which can now be done digitally, by using your registered mobile number and UID on the official website. One even has the option of updating or linking their mobile number on the Aadhaar card, just by following a few simple steps.
Citizens who wish to change or link their mobile numbers with their Aadhaar cards can do so by visiting their nearest Aadhaar centre and filling out a simple form.
How to change or link mobile number with Aadhaar card
The first step to follow is to download the mAaadhaar app or log on to the official website of UIDAI and enter your locality’s PIN code, through which you can locate your nearest Aadhaar centre. You can also contact the 1947 helpline number to find out where the nearest Aadhaar centre.
You can then go to your nearest Aadhaar centre and fill out a form requesting that your Aadhaar database be updated with your new mobile number. You can also fill out a form to link your mobile number to your Aadhaar, if not done before.
The Aadhaar centre will confirm your identity through biometric verification. Once your identity is confirmed, you will be charged a fee of Rs 50 and will be allotted a Unique Reference Number that can be used to track the status of your request.
After your request is processed by the Aadhaar centre, you will be able to view the updated information on the mobile app. You will also be able to further change your personal details using your updated mobile number.
