Five arrested in Rs 1.69 lakh burglary case in Thane

THANE: Thane Police arrested a gang of robbers who broke into two shops and recovered stolen items worth Rs 1.69 lakh.
The gang included four female robbers and their male accomplice. The arrested were identified as Rukmani Vitthal Kamble (35) and Suman Premji Kucchi (50), Sheetal Akash Kucchi (24), Nandini Manoj Gaikwad (32) and Akash Premji Kucchi (27).
The recovered goods included 23 water motors, 100 table drawer channels, one pack of aluminium section and one drilling stand collectively worth Rs 1.69 lakh.
In the first case, the robbers could not be tracked wherein they robbed 23 water motors. They ran out of luck in their second robbery after they robbed aluminium articles, said Sanjay Dhumal, senior inspector of Naupada police station.
The police said that two teams were formed to trace the accused persons and they took help of the CCTV footage and intelligence inputs to track the robbers.
First, the police arrested the auto driver and later they arrested the four women involved in the theft. All were residents of the Kalwa, the police said.
We are investigating their involvement in other similar crimes, police said.
