Tyson Fury has had one of the most storied careers in boxing history – and it’s far from finished yet.
After stunning the world with his victory over the legendary Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, Fury’s career appeared to be over due to a mess of controversies and personal issues.
But he is now back at the top of the sport thanks to an amazing comeback and masterclass win over Deontay Wilder back in February 2020.
Fury produced a performance for the ages to beat Wilder and he will need to repeat his performance in their trilogy bout this weekend.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Gypsy King…
Tyson Fury: Debut and who he has fought
Fury made his professional debut on 6 December 2008 when he stopped Hungarian Bela Gyongyosi inside the first round.
He has since beaten Dereck Chisora twice and claimed wins over the likes of Christian Hammer, Joey Abell and Steve Cunningham.
But Fury hit the headlines with his remarkable points win over Klitschko in Dusseldorf in November 2015.
That victory saw Fury claim the WBA (Super), WBO, IBF, IBO and The Ring magazine titles.
Fury was then absent from boxing for nearly three years before making his comeback with a win over Sefer Seferi in June 2018.
Another tune up win over Francesco Pianeta followed before his thrilling draw with Wilder in their first meeting.
Fury beat Germany’s Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas next before seeing off Sweden’s Otto Wallin.
In his last fight over a year ago, Fury reclaimed his place at the top of boxing’s elite with a punch-perfect display to take Wilder’s WBC heavyweight crown.
Tyson Fury: Wins, losses and professional record
Fury is unbeaten in his 31 fights since turning pro, claiming 21 wins by the way of knockout.
The dramatic draw with Wilder in December 2018 is the only blip on his record.
That 30-0-1 record is something he will be keen to keep when he puts his title on the line against the Bronze Bomber, live on talkSPORT on October 9.
Tyson Fury: Weight, height and reach
Fury’s weight has tumbled since his comeback to the ring but he still hit the scales at 18st 4lbs during his second outing with Wilder last year.
The 33-year-old, who fights from an orthodox stance, is 6ft 9in (206cm) and has a reach of 85in (216 cm).
Tyson Fury: Next fight and future opponents
The trilogy bout with Wilder is all set for this weekend, Saturday, October 9.
It is taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with a full house of 20,000 fans set to be in attendance.
The undercard will get going at midnight UK time with the main event ring walks expected between 4am and 5am on Sunday morning.
The WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles will be on the line.
Joshua had hoped to face the winner of Fury v Wilder 3 but his dreams of unifying the heavyweight titles next year have been left in tatters after he was outclassed by Usyk.
Usyk was superb against AJ at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the two will now likely face off in a rematch in early 2022.
