'What you see is 80 minutes a week 8 months of the year, what I see is 24/7, 365 days a year of commitment, sacrifices and hard work.

'I watch a man come home battered and bruised from a game only to get up hours later because his eldest daughter wants him to go on the trampoline or comes home after a massive day of training to bath and feed kids.'

Tahlia - who shares Sophie, two, and Elodie, nine months, with Tom - continued: 'We wish everyone was here to celebrate.

'The kid's and I will be cheering loud and proud for you @thomasburgess, and the boys in red and green. This is your moment. Bring the trophy home.'

It comes just hours after it was revealed that the NRL Grand Final will go ahead in Brisbane after there was no new community coronavirus cases recorded in the city.

The zero community transfers will ensure 39,000 fans pack Suncorp Stadium on Sunday evening to watch the all-Sydney final as the South Sydney Rabbitohs play the Penrith Panthers.

In August, Tahlia was reunited with her fiancé in Brisbane after spending several weeks apart due to lockdown.

The family were given special permission to leave their Sutherland Shire mansion to support Tom after the NRL was forced to relocate its 16 teams to three bubbles in Queensland, to escape growing Covid outbreaks in NSW and Victoria.

Close to 500 Sydney-based family members spent 14 days at the Novotel hotel, before joining their NRL star partners in their respective hubs.
