MYSURU: Kannada and culture minister V Sunil Kumar on Friday said the state government has decided to hold the cultural programme in Mysuru Palace premises for all seven days, and two days at Kalamandir.
Speaking to reporters after releasing the Dasara cultural events posters and holding a meeting with the officials at deputy commissioner’s office here, he said a decision to this effect was taken to ensure people enjoy Dasara festivities.
Cultural programmes in Mysuru Palace will be held from October 7 to 13 from 6.30 pm. It will be held from 10am to 5pm at Kalamandir on October 11 and 12. It will also be held at Nanjangud temple premises from this year from October 7 to 13.
A list of artists taking part in Dasara cultural events was announced on its official website. Public can also view Dasara cultural events online.
As the district minister sought to make illumination arrangements this year like previous year’s celebrations, he said his department has decided to cover 100km of major roads, streets and junctions — 102 circles — in the city.
Major junctions will be illuminated with 42 models this year including that of 75 Independence Day platinum jubilee celebrations, Neeraj Chopra, Krishna Ratha, Vidhana Soudha, Parliament Bhavan, Covid-19 precautionary measures. All the four entrances circle the city too will be illuminated. Chief minister Basavaraj Bomma will inaugurate the Dasara cultural events on October 7 at 6.30pm, he said.
