Pokémon Go Secrets of the Jungle field research tasks explained

In the jungle...

The Secrets of the Jungle event in Pokémon Go celebrates the release of the latest Pokémon movie on Netflix.

During this event, you'll be able to catch Explorer Pikachu, fight Pokémon which appear in the movie in raids and complete exclusive field research tasks.

Best of all, by playing Pokémon Go during this event, you'll unlock the Search for Zarude research quest, which, as the name suggests, allows you to add the mythical Zarude to your Pokédex.

The main attraction of the Secrets of the Jungle event in Pokémon Go is the release of the Search for Zarude special research quest. If you complete this special research quest, you'll be able to add Zarude - a mythical Pokémon from Gen 8 and one of the stars of the Secrets of the Jungle movie - to your Pokédex.

There is, however, a catch - Search for Zarude can only be unlocked during the Secrets of the Jungle event. This means you must play Pokémon Go at least once during this event, because, if you don't, you won't be able to catch Zarude.

Thankfully, once you've unlocked Zarude, you'll have it forever, so you don't need to rush to complete it.

Jessie and James will also be spreading double trouble from their Meowth balloon from the start of the event till Friday, 15th October at 10am (local time). Make sure you stop by to say hello!

Caterpie, Oddish, Diglett, Mankey, Hoothoot, Aipom, Larvitar, Combee, Roggenrola, Drilbur, Cottonee and Dwebble - all Pokémon connected to the Secrets of the Jungle movie - will be appearing more frequently in the wild. Explorer Pikachu is also back in full costume and you might even be able to catch a shiny one!

Finally, the line up for raids is getting a shake up for this event. For one-star raids, you'll be able to battle Explorer Pikachu, Larvitar, Roggenrola, Foongus and Rufflet. Meanwhile, in three-star raids, you can fight Lickitung, Chansey, Pinsir, Ludicolo and Flygon.

The Season of Mischief is here! Current events include the Season 9 of Go Battle League, the addition of Raid Achievements, the Misunderstood Mischief research quest and the new Finding Your Voice Meloetta research. Shiny Ditto can also now be found in the wild and this tricky Pokémon is now appearing as new creatures! The Secrets of the Jungle event is here - hailing the return of Genesect and Jessie and James, along with the new Search for Zarude research quest! Meanwhile, the last major update saw a level cap increase - including the addition of XL Candy, boosts to some XP sources and the addition of Platinum Medals. Inkay and Malamar are now in Pokémon Go!
