LUCKNOW: Taking a jibe at the BJP over cabinet expansion, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said people have got disenchanted with the saffron brigade and changing face of the cabinet will not help change anything on ground for the party.
He said the people are fed-up with politics of hate of RSS and BJP and are ready to vote them out of power in the 2022 assembly polls. “A cabinet expansion will not change the approach of the BJP government which focuses on politics of hate. BJP has lost ground in UP and adding new faces will not be able to infuse any excitement among the voters,” Akhikesh said.
He said the politics of hate as been so profound during the BJP regime that even the fate of criminals is decided not on the basis of the severity of crime but the caste or religion that they belong to. The result is that the government has failed miserably in controlling crime.
“As many as 42 priests have been murdered since the BJP government came to power four years ago. The statistics themselves speak volumes of the state of affairs in U Some of these priests were shot dead in cold blood, while some died under mysterious circumstances. Not one of them has got justice till now,” the former UP CM said. “The government is only focusing on its ‘Thoko Niti’ (encounter policy) as a result of which the police are more inclined to implicate individuals in crimes which they have not committed. The result is that the crime graph is spiraling by the day,” he added.
