Ganja worth 1.25 crore in Kothagudem was seized

Kothagudem: Police arrested three people and seized ganja worth approximately R25 million at Brindavanam under the boundaries of the Chunchupalli police station in Kothagudem.

Police Inspector D Guruswamy told staff members that the seizure of a ganja weighed about 626 kg and was hidden among coconut trees in a truck.

The substance was seized during vehicle inspection and the detainees were identified as Shyam Sivaji Khale, Arvind Deelip Gule and Lakshman Thambe, all from Bhoom taluq in the Osmanabad district in Maharashtra state, he said.

Another accused in the case, Kunle from Pune in Maharashtra, was disappearing. During interrogation, the accused admitted to the police that they bought ganja from unknown persons in the Malkangiri district of Odisha and smuggled the dust to Pune.
