I recommend you to give Microsoft Edge a try.
It doesnt hog on resources.
It doesnt have inbuilt VPN and adblocker, but you can get these features by installing extensions (Chrome store extensions are fully compatible, as it is based on open-source Chromium project. ).
Im using it in in work desktop and personal laptop. Would rate it 4.5/5.

Edge is cool but check the Required diagnostic data tab. It automatically sends stuff to MS and there is no way to turn it off.
Is there any vpn with an Indian server in the chrome store? Also how to hide that shitload of feed on chrome default page when we open the same?

You can hide the feed in the settings. I personally don't use Edge anymore but the option to have a clean home interface is there.

1. Click the page settings icon from the top right side.
2. Click on custom.
3. In the "Content" dropdown choose 'Content Off'.
