Peru fines Telefonica and Entel nearly PEN 3 mln

Peruvian telecommunications services regulator Osiptel has fined Telefonica del Peru (Movistar) and Entel Peru a total of PEN 2.92 million for a number of breaches including blocking number portability requests and failure to provide information to the watchdog. Telefonica was fined around PEN 1.76 million for improperly objecting to 38,643 portability requests and 111,463 prior consultations made by existing customers.
