Cheapest way to keep BSNL mobile active?

I have a BSNL prepaid number which I use as secondary connection.

I need it for incoming and WhatsApp/telegram.

I don't need outgoing calls, data.

Just want to keep it active so that incoming is active.

I found a Rs. 24 plan which offers 30 days validity.

Will this provide validity or does it need some other plan to work. i.e. is it a validity extension plan or not.

I have a feeling BSNL won't provide such a cheap option for 30 days validity even without any calls/data.

if that is the case I found Rs. 197 plan extension plan for 150 days. Is this the best if the Rs. 24 plan won't extend validity?

my current monthly Rs. 153 prepaid plan expires in 2 weeks.

  • GEN_Plan_Voucher ( MRP In Rs.) : 197
  • GEN_Plan_Validity (in Days) : 150
  • Circle Applicable : PB
  • GEN_Voucher_Information : Unlimited Voice Calls + Unlimited Data (speed restricted to 40 Kbps after 2GB/day) + 100 SMS/day for 18 days + ZING.Freebies valid for 150 days only.

I use 365 days validity plan for 365rs, you get unlimited calls+data for first 2 months along with 12 month validity so just recharge for 10rs in case of emergency and use the number for an year.

I am using it in Lucknow so can confirm for UP East customers

I am using MTNL Sim for official documents (Aadhar, Bank, etc). It cost me 149 rs for 1 year validity. I have paid for 5 years in advance as they allow stacking like BSNL. Validity is shown as 2026. I am not sure what will happen when MTNL will be completely absorbed by BSNL. Does any body know what is the stacking limit for MTNL/BSNL?

Ok thanks.

will recharge with 397 for 1 year validity.

ive heard unofficially that Jio provides 1 year incoming free if one recharges for 1 month prepaid plan with jio prime. That sounds sweet if true.

No that's not true. Jio stopped this service way long back. You'll receive free incoming till next 30 days after plan expiry.

I have a 2-3 year old jio sim, I still get incoming on it. Maybe its because it has always been online, as in always in my phone, or maybe I'm just lucky.
Edit: recharged once in last 2 years.
