New women’s panel chief to take charge on Oct 1

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM leader P Sathidevi will take charge as the new chairperson of the Kerala Women’s Commission on October 1, according to a statement issued by the commission here on Saturday.
The 64-year-old Sathidevi is a former Lok Sabha member and is presently the secretary of the Democratic Mahila Association, the CPM’s women’s wing.
She is the sister of party leader P Jayarajan. Her husband is a former CPM legislator, M Dasan, who passed away in 2002. agencies
