Cape Town City FC and Swallows FC played to a 0-0 draw at Dobsonville Stadium on Friday evening.
Both sides were coming off the back of confidence-boosting 3-0 victories but could not find the back of the net on this occasion in a match in which City dominated possession and Swallows looked dangerous on attack.
SATURDAY, 25 SEPTEMBER
Sekhukhune United 1-1 Golden Arrows
Sekhukune United were able to steal a point from Golden Arrows despite being second best for most of their Premier Soccer League clash at Emirates Airline Park on Saturday evening.
AmaZulu 1-1 Baroka
AmaZulu FC beat Baroka FC 1-0 to grab their first DStv Premiership victory of the season at Jonsson Kings Park Stadium on Saturday.
The homeside were seldom under threat and deserved their victory after Bongi Ntuli's early goal.
The result lifts AmaZulu to seventh on the table with six points from five games while Baroka are sixth above Usuthu on goal difference.
In the 13th minute, AmaZulu went 1-0 up when Sphesihle Maduna was fouled in the box by Joslin Kamatuka and Ntuli scored from the resulting penalty kick.
Orlando Pirates 0-2 Mamelodi Sundowns - REPORT
Mamelodi Sundowns beat Orlando Pirates 2-0 thanks to a brace by Peter Shalulile in their DStv Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Shalulile scored both goals in the second half, in a match which Sundowns seemed pretty much in control throughout.
The result means Sundowns remain unbeaten with four wins from five games and sit on top of the table with 13 points.
This is Pirates' first loss of the league campaign and they sit with eight points on the table.
Stellenbosch FC 2-1 Chippa United
Sammy Seabi bagged the match opener before scoring an own goal as Chippa United suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Stellenbosch FC at Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday evening.
The hosts made a flying start to the encounter. They claimed the lead after just nine minutes of play, Stanley Dimgba converting on the follow-up after the initial shot from Judas Moseamedi was blocked by Chippa goalkeeper Ismael Watenga.
The Chilli Boys took a while to muster a response, but it resulted in an equalising goal when they did.
Seabi bagged the equaliser, sending a towering header into the back of the net after rising to meet Thabiso Lebitso's cross in the centre of the box.
However, Seabi went from hero to villain in the 38th minute as he put the ball into his own net to hand Stellies the lead in the closing stages of the first half.
SuperSport United 2-1 Maritzburg United
Thatayaone Ditlhokwe scored deep in injury time to fire SuperSport United to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday evening.
The match looked to be heading for a 1-1 draw after Lifa Hlongwane cancelled out Thamsanqa Gabuza's opening goal, but Ditlhokwe was having none of it, stepping up in the third minute of injury time to fire home a dramatic winner.
SUNDAY, 26 SEPTEMBER
Royal AM 4-2 TS Galaxy
Royal AM continued their winning run in the DStv Premiership with an impressive 4-2 victory at home against a ten-man TS Galaxy on Sunday.
Tshidiso Monamodi opened the scoring on just four minutes at the Chatsworth Stadium. Marks Munyai was then shown a straight red card with seven minutes on the clock to leave Galaxy with an uphill battle to climb.
Levy Mashiane added a second goal on 28 minutes for the hosts before Victor Letsoalo got in on the action with his goal on the stroke of half-time.
Pogiso Sanoka netted a 77th minute penalty for Galaxy but then Kabelo Mahlasela added a fourth goal five minutes later. Mxolisi Macuphu headed home late on to add some respectability to the scoreline for the away team.
Marumo Gallants 0-0 Kaizer Chiefs – MATCH REPORT
Marumo Gallants and Kaizer Chiefs ended the game with 10-men in a goalless DStv Premiership draw on Sunday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
In an encounter that Amakhosi were desperate to collect maximum points to climb the standings as they now occupy 13th place, which is a considerable concern for head coach Stuart Baxter.
Meanwhile, Gallants, who were dominant against the visitors, are in the 14th spot with a game in hand following their CAF Confederation Cup duties.
