Anthony Joshua came in relatively light by his standards, but was still over a stone heavier than Oleksandr Usyk at their weigh-in on Friday.
It’s all systems go for the unified heavyweight world champion who is set to defend his titles against the former cruiserweight king on Saturday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Usyk stepped onto the scales first and came in at a career heaviest 221.25lbs (15st 11lbs 4oz).
AJ followed up and weighed 240lbs (17st 2lbs).
The difference between the two is 19.75lbs (1st 5lbs 12oz).
Usyk’s previous highest weight was the 217.25lbs that he scaled for his fight with Derek Chisora last year.
His only heavyweight contest before this saw him scale 215lbs against Chazz Witherspoon.
Prior to that, he competed under the 200lbs cruiserweight limit.
As for AJ, long gone are the days he would weigh in around 250lbs.
Following his defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, Joshua cut down significantly to win the rematch.
Since then, he has kept consistent at around the 240lbs mark.
