Noida: A day after TOI reported erratic and irregular door-to-door
waste collection in residential sectors, RWA federation took up the matter with Noida authority who also called the officials of the agency engaged in the job. At the meeting, the authority directed AG Enviro company engaged in the door-to-door waste collection to provide all information related to the job to sector RWAs. These include the route plan of vans deployed to collect the waste, the name of the driver, his mobile number, vehicle number and timing of garbage collection.
KK Jain, secretary general of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association (FONRWA), said, “After complaints, we held a meeting with officials of the public health department of Noida authority as well as AG Enviro company’s representative Gaurav Kapoor.”
He said that most RWAs present in the meeting complained that waste collection from houses in residential sectors has been derailed.
While Yogendra Sharma president FONRWA apprised officials that the RWAs have been instrumental in keeping the city clean, they have cooperated in every way in the waste collection policy of Noida Authority and helped to implement it in residential sectors. “Residents also pay the price fixed for waste collection as per authority stipulation. It is therefore the responsibility of Noida Authority to instruct the concerned garbage collection agency to ensure a regular collection system and at a stipulated time,” he said.
Vijay Rawal, senior manager public health department directed AG Enviro company to provide details of their schedule to the sector RWAs. “The company has been directed to provide the route plan of waste collection vans along with the information such as the name of the driver, his mobile number, vehicle number and timing of garbage collection to the sector RWAs henceforth,” he said.
