WR/DB Kyndon Fuselier, Nederland

Fuselier was the best player on the field in Friday night’s Mid-County Madness game, getting it done on both sides of the ball. In the first half, he recovered a fumble and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown that tied the game at 14. Later with the game on the line in the fourth quarter, Fuselier hauled in a 34-yard touchdown to give Nederland its first lead of the game. He finished with 81 yards receiving, 47 rushing and the two scores.

QB Ashton Landry, LC-M

LC-M beat up on Houston Kinkaid Friday night, and Landry was the biggest reason why as the definition of a duel-threat. Through the air, Landry went 13-of-16 for 247 yards and two touchdowns. He was arguably even better on the ground, rushing for 218 and three scores on 18 carries. Led by Landry, this Bears offense should be a problem for opponents all season long.

QB Jacoby Perrault, East Chambers

The Buccaneers look to be back on track with two straight wins, the latest of which coming against Hardin thanks to a big performance from Perrault. The junior quarterback went 11-of-12 passing for 238 yards and three touchdowns to pace East Chambers’ offense. He also added 42 yards rushing for good measure.

QB Jah’mar Sanders, Port Arthur

It was another stellar performance for Sanders on Friday night in a season full of them. He threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns as the Titans dismantled La Porte in the district opener for both teams. Expect more big games from Sanders as Port Arthur goes through its league schedule.

K Ty Butler, Orangefield

Butler put the finishing touches on Orangefield’s historic win against Silsbee on Friday night. Just a freshman, Butler made the biggest kick of his life, connecting from 28 yards out to give the Bobcats a 16-14 victory — their first over Silsbee in school history. The kick came with nine seconds left after Orangefield put together a clutch drive in the final minute.
