STILL A BEAST

Anthony Joshua shows off six-month body transformation having slimmed down since starting to train for Oleksandr Usyk instead of Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua’s physique has been at the centre of much discussion during the build-up to his fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

Many fans and observers have commented on how AJ appears to have ‘slimmed down’ significantly ahead of his latest bout on Saturday night.

Back in March (see left image above), Joshua appeared significantly bulkier than he does now (see right image above).

Admittedly, a lot has changed in that six-month span.

In the spring of this year, all talk surrounding AJ was linking him to an undisputed clash with Tyson Fury on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.

A meeting with the 6ft 9ins, 273lbs (19st 7lbs) Fury seemed to lead Joshua to keep a more bulky frame.

However, this all came crashing down when Deontay Wilder’s arbitration victory forced Fury into a third bout with him, live on talkSPORT on October 9.

As a result, Joshua is now fighting the far smaller Usyk.

It must be noted though that the Ukrainian has himself made an interesting body transformation in recent months.

Last October, the former cruiserweight champion was 217¼lbs (15st 7lbs) for a unanimous decision victory over Derek Chisora.

It appears he’s been bulking up again and recently showed that he weighed 230lbs.

Now, in his latest training photo, the bulked up body transformation is complete.
