Comedy-drama Hacks made quite a stir at the 73rd Primetime Emmys.

For its first season, it got a total of 15 nominations, taking home three awards for Best Acting, Best Writing and Best Directing in a comedy series.

The series centres on Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a Las Vegas stand-up comedy diva who needs to maintain relevance. She reluctantly teams up with Ava (Hannah Einbinder), a Millennial comedy writer who cannot find work due to being "cancelled" over an insensitive tweet. The two team up to freshen Vance's material and learn to respect each other's differences.
