Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched a new entry-level phone in India. The phone hasn’t been unveiled yet but the company has promised the sales will begin tomorrow on mi.com. Amazon India has also created a dedicated webpage for the same. As per the webpage, the sales will start tomorrow at 12 pm IST.

The Redmi 9 Activ gets a dual-camera setup on the back. On the front, it gets a teardrop-style notch that carries a 5MP camera for selfies. The rear panel has a textured design and the company claims it prevents fingerprints.

The Redmi 9 Ativ is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G35 octa-core processor with up to 6GB RAM. It comes with an HD+ IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has a 13MP primary snapper and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.2 lens as a dual-camera setup on the back. Connectivity options on the phone include an Infrared (IR) blaster, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Redmi 9 Activ comes in Metallic Purple, Carbon Black, and Coral Green color options. It has a fingerprint scanner on the back for biometric authentication.

In related news, the company is expected to launch Redmi 9A Sport in the country as well. As per rumors, it is going to be a new variant of Redmi 9A.
